Job Requirements & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Review blueprints, layouts and written construction requirements
  • Measure, mark and cut lumber or other building materials
  • Assemble frameworks using suitable tools, fasteners and installation methods
  • Complete framing, rough carpentry or finish work according to project needs
  • Keep tools, materials and job site work areas properly organized
  • Evaluate completed work and correct alignment or installation issues

Skills:

  • Ability to understand construction drawings, dimensions and instructions
  • Accurate measuring, cutting and preparation of building materials
  • Practical problem-solving when field conditions change
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with supervisors, carpenters and other trades

Qualifications:

  • Reliable attendance and a productive approach to assigned work
  • Willingness to develop new carpentry skills and follow job site procedures
