Job Requirements & Qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Review blueprints, layouts and written construction requirements
- Measure, mark and cut lumber or other building materials
- Assemble frameworks using suitable tools, fasteners and installation methods
- Complete framing, rough carpentry or finish work according to project needs
- Keep tools, materials and job site work areas properly organized
- Evaluate completed work and correct alignment or installation issues
Skills:
- Ability to understand construction drawings, dimensions and instructions
- Accurate measuring, cutting and preparation of building materials
- Practical problem-solving when field conditions change
- Ability to coordinate effectively with supervisors, carpenters and other trades
Qualifications:
- Reliable attendance and a productive approach to assigned work
- Willingness to develop new carpentry skills and follow job site procedures
Education:
- High School diploma or GED
