Job Requirements & Qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Examine blueprints, layouts and written project requirements
- Measure, mark and cut lumber or other construction materials
- Build structural assemblies using suitable tools and fastening techniques
- Perform framing, rough carpentry or finish work according to the assigned position
- Keep tools, materials and workspaces organized throughout the day
- Evaluate field conditions and correct installation or alignment problems
Skills:
- Ability to understand construction drawings, dimensions and crew instructions
- Accurate measuring, cutting and assembly of building materials
- Ability to make practical decisions when project conditions change
- Productive communication with supervisors, crew members and other trades
Qualifications:
- Dependable attendance and a consistent approach to assigned work
- Interest in learning new carpentry techniques and construction procedures
Education:
- High School diploma or GED
