Job Requirements & Qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Study blueprints, layouts and project instructions before beginning work
- Measure, cut and prepare lumber or additional building materials
- Construct walls, floors, roof systems and other structural components
- Complete framing, rough carpentry or finish work based on the assigned position
- Keep tools, materials and active work areas organized
- Recognize installation issues and make appropriate corrections on site
Skills:
- Ability to follow construction drawings, measurements and instructions
- Accurate material preparation, cutting and assembly
- Sound judgment when resolving job site challenges
- Ability to work effectively with carpenters, supervisors and other trades
Qualifications:
- Dependable attendance and a consistent work ethic
- Willingness to develop new carpentry and construction skills
Education:
- High School diploma or GED
